Building on the strong foundation of its existing intermediate relay products, Honeywell Control Components has meticulously designed the new CRT series compact intermediate relay with a test button—following extensive feedback from actual customer applications and innovative thinking. This product was officially launched in October 2015. The introduction of this product innovatively addresses the challenge faced by customers: reducing the size of control cabinets while still enabling convenient on-site commissioning.

The CRT series products have the following four major advantages:

  1. The CRT series continues the compact size characteristic of the CR series, with a width of only 12.8 mm, while its contact capacity can reach up to 8 A. On the top surface of the relay, thanks to the ingenious ideas and innovative design developed by our R&D team, we’ve introduced a test button featuring both a testing function and a locking mechanism. This dual-function button is designed to provide engineers with greater convenience during equipment installation and debugging, thereby saving significant time on setup and commissioning.

  2. In the design of the relay indicator lights, we have abandoned the traditional manual soldering approach commonly used in relays and innovatively adopted a PCB-based printed circuit design. Pre-designed circuits are directly printed onto the PCB using a universal PCB pick-and-place machine, effectively ensuring the stability and reliability of the LED lights and associated circuits. Moreover, the PCB allows for the integration of various protective functions as needed. Additionally, this circuit design incorporates polarity protection for DC products, providing effective protection and preventing potential issues arising from incorrect connection of positive and negative terminals.

  3. Regarding the accompanying base units, the CRT series offers a variety of base options. The optimized rail-mounted base comes standard with plastic retaining clips, ensuring a more secure contact between the relay and the base—making it particularly well-suited for applications in vibrating environments. Compared to conventional base units, which typically rely on wire connections internally, the base units we provide this time all feature an all-copper, one-piece molding process for their connections, effectively reducing temperature rise and guaranteeing stable and reliable connectivity.

  4. The CRT series can be widely used in machining equipment, CNC machine tools, control cabinets, welding equipment, wind power applications, hydraulic and hydroelectric projects, food and beverage processing, integrated circuits, and more.
